On February 6, I had my first appointment with Dr. Laura Schneider, and I was informed that everything would be fully covered by my insurance. I was then scheduled for a pre-surgery consultation on February 26, but upon arrival, I was unexpectedly asked to pay for the first visit. Furthermore, they could not provide any clear information regarding the costs of the surgery itself or the follow-up visits.

How could I possibly agree to proceed without knowing the financial commitment involved? This lack of transparency made me feel uneasy, so I decided not to attend the appointment. It is completely unfair to be charged for something that had already been discussed and agreed upon. Due to this lack of clarity and professionalism, I no longer feel secure proceeding with this office.

After I declined the appointment, I received a call stating that I could pay later—but that was never the issue. The real concern is the disorganization and misinformation within the office, which is not my responsibility to fix. Now, I am being billed a $75 cancellation fee, with no acknowledgment of the mistake made by their team.

This is not an urgent procedure, and I prefer to find a provider who is transparent and professional rather than being put in a financially uncertain situation. The insurance and billing department’s incompetence led to this issue, and I refuse to pay for a mistake that was not mine. If anyone should be held accountable, it is those responsible for the error.

To be clear, this complaint is not about Dr. Schneider’s professionalism, but rather about the poor service and mismanagement within her office. I hope this review serves as a warning for future patients. I also expect a call to resolve this issue appropriately.
